Lee Johnson
Lee was born in 1961 into a Christian family in Alexandria, Virginia. He professed faith in Christ and was baptized at age 8. Following high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve, and served there until he retired in 2007.
While a Marine reservist, Lee went to college, became a teacher, got married, and raised a family. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, where he met Ruth Brueck.
Lee taught history at Temple Baptist Christian School in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Lee and Ruth married, lived in Virginia until she finished college, and then moved to Illinois, nearer to her family.
At Bible Baptist Christian Academy in Romeoville, IL, Lee served as secondary teacher and administrator. He and Ruth bought a home nearby and raised three daughters. Lee also earned a master of arts degree in secondary education from Pensacola Christian College in Florida in 1993.
In 1994, Lee took a teaching position at Ridgewood Baptist Academy in Joliet, IL, where he served as a junior and senior high history teacher. Over several years he prepared students for the state-level National Geography Bee. As academic tournament coordinator, he prepared students for state and national academic tournaments, seeing many students declared champions.
Lee became the secondary history teacher at Romeoville Christian Academy in 2011. In June 2017 he also served as secondary principal while teaching five hours a day.
In February 2022, Lee joined the staff of the GRACE Association of Christian schools, as administrator for the GRACE School in Romeoville, which is scheduled to open in August 2022.
